You think that you're tired from the sleepless nights of the newborn years....and you are! You think that some relief will be in store for you when the kids can use the bathroom or keep themselves entertained for like five minutes. You are to a point, but the bottom line is that these kids can be EXHAUSTING!!
I don't know a mom out there who isn't often one step away from a meltdown. These tiny little humans take up a lot of time and brain power. I find myself turning into a babbling idiot by like 9:00 every night.....and that's without any wine. KIDS. WEAR. YOU. OUT.
It can be the "mama, mama, mama, mama" jammering that can put you over the edge. It might be running them around all day like you're a freaking chaffeur. It might just be that you haven't had a good night of sleep since the day before you took that fateful pregnancy test.
They're amazing, we love them, and hell we do everything for them to make their life better--but that doesn't take away from the fact that being a mom is exhausting work. As I finally sit here to try and put my ever growing to do list together for tomorrow, I can barely make my way through an episode of food porn without wanting to nod off on the laptop.
No matter how old, how independent, or how amazing your kids are, they are going to drain you of all your energy and that is why most of us are just one step away from a metldown at any given moment.
It happens to the best of us--now go try to get some sleep before you are awakened by two little eyes staring up at you in bed!
